The Invitations

We chose to create our invitations by using a Do-It-Yourself option offered by InviteSite.com. We selected a style we liked, received all the pieces in the count we needed, pre-cut and with printing templates. Instead of wasting time selecting paper and doing the prep work, we were able to invest that energy in designing the graphical elements, adding our own little touches (like the wax seal) and lovingly creating and assembling each invitiation.

Overall, it was a very enjoyable experience! I highly recommend this route if you have a limited number of invitations to send out and have the time and energy to invest. The results are so personal and we were even able to print it all at home on our inkjet printer.

Favors, Programs & Placecards

The wedding favors were packets of Shasta Daisy seeds. We selected 35 of our favorite quotes to put on the front of the packets, meaning only 3 packets had the same quote. We selected some lovely Japanese handmade paper, designed the packets, printed at home, and then had volunteer help to cut, fold, glue and fill the packets. It was quite a project, but the results were simply beautiful - and very unique! Below are all the quotes we used.

The wedding programs were a 16-page, folded booklet. This sounds obcenely over-achieving, we know, but about 85% of our guest list was from out of town, so the need for maps, schedules, and dining tips seemed important. The guests expressed such gratitude for the extra help, and it was great to hear it!

The placecards were a fun way to designate the only assigned table. We referred to them as the Szazszorszapathy Founders and gave them each honored titles!
