This was originally a black destruction card, but I was short white, and I always wanted to do something about tokens and I had removed a disenchant from white as well. The damage Twister does was inspired by the quote.
an original, the gaining of 0/+1 was added later to make it a viable card though.
original, but at the last second I thought.. it needs something, I mean its *the* Calvin, henceforth the special ability, which then led to the Hobbes and Alien Despot having abilties.

new, one of the last cards, I was struggling with white and then at night I recalled Hobbes protecting Calvin and this was born. This could be deadly with sirens call type card as all blocked creatures are considered to have not attacked...
new, the last card created. Was looking through the books for the protection hobbes with a mind toward another white common when I saw this and though.. ahh warm nice fuzzy.. thats white, and I feel like I gained a life when I snuggly my cats.
original, a little worried about giving white land destruction, but white has always been able to do that if it destroys its own too, so that coupled with the cost made it work for me.

new, (uncom 1) Calvin is always burying something important but Hobbes is always there, since they are a team the ability was better defined and made acceptable to me :) < replaced Ameoba blanket >
original, Snow Hobbes floated between colours alot and ended in white giving white a Hobbes. A late addition was making his cost more but doing a throwback for snow-covered lands. (I didnt want another "Hobbes" under a different name)
late addition, this one called to me. The fort/club *had* to be in there. This is one of the less 'serious' cards, but still makes me smile.
original, casting cost would change until I saw the same attributes in a different white card then I went with that.
original. Couldnt figure out a way to make the opponent give Calvin a flame thrower if the Charm worked though :)
original, like Elimination this one worried me, giving white direct damage, but hey its a snowball and snowballs are white, that and the higher rarity coupled with casting cost made up our minds.
original, we just liked the picture.. I didnt come up with a cool ability, but thats fine. Maybe int he future I will add that if you control a plains you can use colorless mana to summon him.

original, Not sure if it was originally black, but in the end there was a desire to give most colors at least one 'devouring' and this one is the strongest in both defense and attack.
