new, I was trimming replicatants and "fear" went. This was a type of 'terror' but can effect all colours, drawback is there has to be two of em in play :). Another idea straight from the strip.
new alien, I played with echo and abilites and costs, just hope its still weak enough to deserve 'common'
original. One of the few very simple card, but simple is what common is for :)
new alien, but replacing an original, again we went with simple.
New, I found i had a few 'glop' cards and they were tending toward black so this one went here, the action again inspired the ability.
new, replaced an old alien, but I wanted something different, I already had 2 'normals' for black common. This was a Big guy, wanted something risky as well. Imagine it with an unholy strength(+4/+2).. a later change was to increase his casting cost a bit, as I got scared of it being too unbalanced. (2 giant growths = +12/+12)
Another 'normal' and original in a fashion. Its "Zorgness" comes in hany with another card as well.
The original "Zombie" become "Zombify" becuase the strip demanded the change, but then a new Zombie fell in my lap and tada Zombie Calvin was reborn.
original, buyback and its increased rarity were added later.
originally zombie calvin, but in the strip he runs into hobbes, and then hobbes becomes a zombie. the -1/-1 was added in to make it peter out and make it a bit more interesting. The Zombie type does not replace current types either.. so you would have zombie merfolk for example.
original, this was the 'weakest' alien and we wanted to give it a little something. Not sure if the mana help makes it above 'common' but in our eyes it was enough. tweaked a little more to increase its mana ability, it used to need to tap.
semi-original, so we had "invisibility" an "fear" which I dropped, but still this picture and I liked the idea so I prodded my brain till I came up with an idea.. its a litte "blue" but hey no-ones perfect :)
original, we just liked this idea, I dont think a thing was changed.. sort of pestilance.. sort of cyclone.
original, we saw the picture and thought "big evil and black" though i you read the full quote its not so 'evil' but that smile won us over.
Original, at least in concept, he changed species once as i couldnt finr the glorag leader, but did find him. Also his ability became better, hopefully not too powerful though.

original, blacks big devourer, the slowness and size made us think more toughness... which is an important part in being able to devour.

new, saw this and knew it fit the 'glop' theme of black and was definately a devourerer, moves the hobbes devourer for this one as Hobbes felt out of place in black.
