As is always the case in Spring, the city is usually brimming over with tourists and visitors. The weekend of the Szazszorszapathy event also shares the city with visitors attending a few conventions and the university graduations. This usually means big chain hotels & smaller chic places are running about $200-$300 a night.

Below is a list of hotels, some we have seen and others we have spoken with to confirm availability and are as affordable and respectable as it is going to get. Our suggestion is that if you plan to attend, please make reservations as soon as possible to ensure you can get an affordable accommodations.

We recommend that you call and talk to them about availability rather than depending on web site info.

Please note, this is by no means all the hotels in New Orleans worth considering. If you are considering other hotels, we would be happy to drop by them, take a look and let you know what we thought. Additionally, if you want to spoil yourself, there are a metric ton of fabulous hotels to consider :)

A quick note on locations:
"French Quarter" is the heart of the city and the most known part of NOLA. It is where we live, and you can walk everywhere.
"Faubourg Marigny" (or just the "Marigny") is the neighborhood next to the Quarter that is also very central and walking-oriented. It tends to be less expensive and is really quaint and lovely.
"Uptown"
refers to the areas of town along the St. Charles streetcar line, which leads into the Quarter. Any hotels we suggest up there are at most a 10 minute streetcar ride from the Quarter.

Call M-F after 4pm and speak with the manager, Glinda, and be sure to mention you are with the wedding.

This hotel is where many of our guests are staying. Itl is a typical b&b, offering breakfast each morning and rooms that all have their own flare. Most of the rooms are small and simple, but clean and well-kept. It is right around the corner from our house, so quite central in its location in the Quarter. They also have secure, contract parking available on first-come-first serve basis for $13/day.

March 15 Update: There are still 9 rooms available, and the above list reflects availability.

January 15 Update: There are still 11 rooms available, and the above list reflects availability. Don't be shy about reserving - they have a 30 day cancellation policy. Now that we have reached over 15 rooms booked, all the guest rates will be less - I *think* a $10/night/room reduction, but I need to check on that.

Nov. 10th Update: To help us estimate and lock in this good deal, please email David or Belen with your interest by November 20. We will then reserve either the 15 or 30 room block and contact you with confirmation so you can call and reserve. Your deposit must be received by December 10. They have a 30 day cancellation policy.

This is actually a hostel that many Europeans stay in. The accommodations are modest, but I have heard good things about it - clean, inexpensive, etc. We toured it recently and were quite impressed with its Shabby Chic accommodations - the rooms are actually HUGE, with private bathrooms, and if you can get past little details like frayed carpet edges, this orphanage-turned-hostel is a fabulous deal for this time of year! It is on the Magazine street bus line, which drops off at Decatur & Canal in the Quarter - only about a 5 minute ride.

Prytania Park

1525 Prytania Street - Uptown

A nice, quaint, clean hotel. Belen's parents prefer to stay here when they visit. 5-minute walk to the streetcar line and less than 10 minute ride to the Quarter.
